Effekt a public benefit company, with all profits reinvested into its operations. Effekt and welcomes other financiers, such as foundations and funds, who wish to promote social investment and innovation in Finland.
The founding foundations determine the focus areas for the company's initial activities. These focus on initiatives that create a better future for children and young people, as well as initiatives that support culture and education. As new funders join, the focus areas will expand in line with their objectives.
Initiatives are financed with loans tailored to the specific funding target. Once the initiative has grown to the point where the capital can be repaid, the fund reinvests the funds in new initiatives that are in line with the lender's objectives. The emphasis is on impact, not financial return.
