Ethical guidelines

  1. Purpose and approving authority

This code of conduct brings together the operating principles of The Solutions Fund Effekt and the related procedures. The aim is to ensure that our operations are transparent, responsible, and compliant with the law, and that our partners and stakeholders can trust us in all situations.

The Board approves the guideline and reviews it regularly.

  1. Introduction

The Solutions Fund Effekt promotes social welfare and the future of children and young people through impact investing. We work in cooperation with foundations, municipalities, organizations, and other social actors.

We respect legal obligations and internationally recognized human rights. We operate without political or religious affiliations.

We are guided by the following values:

  1. We operate with transparency and clarity, so we know what we are aiming for and communicate it clearly.
  2. Our goal is clear, but we are trying different ways to get there, learning together with our partners from each experiment.
  3. Our work creates new models, allowing wealth to circulate through new solutions for the benefit of society.
  4. A better society is possible and likely when we act with determination, trusting our partners and our shared vision.

We expect our staff to act in accordance with these principles and strive to establish partnerships with entities whose values are consistent with our own.

  1. We know our customers and partners

We know our customers and project partners as required by legislation, such as regulations on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.

We train our staff regularly and follow internal identification and assessment procedures.

  1. We are open and transparent about our impact funding

Impact financing requires clear metrics, well-founded decisions, and impartiality.

We explain to stakeholders in an understandable way how impacts are measured, how projects are selected, and how funding decisions are made.

  1. We follow good sales and partnership practices

We provide accurate and sufficient information about our services. We do not make misleading claims about our own activities or those of our competitors.

We treat all customer and partner relationships equally.

  1. We promote sustainability and social well-being

Through our choices, we strive to support social well-being, environmental sustainability, and long-term development.

Our operations are based on a materiality assessment, in which we examine the impact of our solutions on people, communities, the environment, and good governance.

  1. We take into account the environmental and social impacts of our activities

We operate in such a way that environmental impact and harmful effects on communities are kept to a minimum.

We expect the same from our partners and funding sources.

  1. We finance responsibly

Our financing decisions are based on compliance with laws and international standards, as well as principles of social and environmental responsibility.

We require our partners to adhere to good governance and ethical operating principles.

  1. Maintaining a safe and equal working environment

We care about mental and physical safety and equal treatment.

We do not tolerate bullying, harassment, discrimination, or other inappropriate behavior.

We have clear reporting channels and procedures for dealing with inappropriate behavior.

  1. We identify and manage conflicts of interest

Conflicts of interest are identified and addressed without delay. Funding decisions or project preparation must not be made in situations where personal interests or external ties may affect independence.

  1. We work together responsibly

We observe competition law and apply it in all networks and cooperative relationships.

We collaborate openly when it promotes social impact and equal treatment.

  1. We do not misuse insider information

Misuse of inside information is prohibited. A person who has inside information shall not trade in securities or give advice that could benefit anyone based on that information.

Partners are expected to act responsibly, fulfill their employer obligations, and take environmental responsibility.

  1. We do not accept corruption or bribery

All forms of bribery are prohibited.

We always act in such a way that no decision or procedure is based on improper interests.

We also require our partners to adopt anti-bribery practices.

  1. We communicate openly and clearly

Our communications strengthen trust and serve the information needs of our stakeholders.

Our operations are fundamentally transparent, unless the information is confidential by law.

  1. Who can I contact

If you are unsure about how to interpret the instructions, consult your supervisor, administration, or legal counsel.

  1. To support the evaluation

You can assess the appropriateness of a decision or action by asking:

  1. Do you comply with the law and the instructions of the authorities?
  2. Is it in line with internal guidelines?
  3. Has the decision been taken independently?
  4. Does the action look acceptable to the outside world?
  5. Can an honest account of what happened be given?
  6. How would stakeholders react if the issue became public?

If any point causes uncertainty, the activity should not be continued until the matter has been discussed with a supervisor or the administration.
